Question: How many rounds have been fired through each of your guns experiencing this feeding issue? I, too, have small-ish hands and so the smaller-format frames/grips tend to fit me best as well. What are your experiences with these, those are beautiful pistols. I put a Hogue Laser grip on the ESV, and a Crimson Trace laser grip on the Dawn. The Hogue grip on my ESV is incredibly comfortable. I find these Micro 9s are just the right size for my small body and hands. I’m a small guy at 5’5”, and my hands are also small. Below is an example of a target I shot a few days ago using a CTK Precision rest at 15’. I find these guns are very accurate at 15 feet, and just fine at 21 feet. And all my magazines for the Rapide Dawn have this problem as I have not tried to break them in yet. The others seem to need more work although they are operating better than before. And now three of my six magazines for the ESV work just fine. So I’ve done some very specific shooting for that purpose at the range.

I think the problem is breaking in the springs of the magazine. Sometimes I even have to bang the back of the slide with the heel of my hand. Loading the first round often fails and requires a second or even third pull of the slide. I have two now: the new two-tone ESV with compensator, and the Rapide Dawn. I find that I really like some of the Kimber Micro 9 1911-like designs.

As I’ve gotten back into handguns, target shooting and carry, I’ve tried various pistols.
